In
an effort to keep you up-to-date on the Passport Requirements, we offer
the following:
|
On April 5,
2005, the U.S. State Department announced details of the
PROPOSED Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.
If the proposed rules are enacted, U.S. and Canadian
Citizens will be required to carry a passport for travel
to or from certain countries/areas that were previously
exempt.
Once the proposed rules are
finalized we will communicate same to our clients.
In the meantime,
individuals with future travel plans to the United States,
Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, (areas
affected by the proposed new rules) are ENCOURAGED
to obtain a passport now.
The proposed implementation dates
are as follows:
- Effective December 31, 2005:
a Passport will be required for all air and sea travel
to or from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Central and South
America.
- Effective December 31, 2006:
a Passport will be required for all air and sea travel
to or from Mexico and the United States.
As new information become
available we will attempt to place same on this page.
However, if in doubt please call us or contact the
Passport office. |
If
you come across additional information, that would be useful,
please
let me know.
